Role: Senior Art Director at Meta [Previously known as Facebook] 2022
Defining Meta's Global Brand Portal | Photography and Art Direction
Responsible for concept, art direction, composing shot-lists, proposing and selecting photographers/directors, curating relicensed imagery.
Challenge
As Facebook rebrands to Meta, how is the brand best represented, as we move towards a more immersive reality between our digital and physical lives? How can we retain authenticity as a human-centric brand, the promise of connection through the enablement of social technology?
Concept
A cohesive direction for photo and live action that captures emotive and immersive moments for people– at the center of the moment.
To cover the variety of expressions between Meta’s family of apps (Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp, Quest), we create a visual spectrum from reality versus heightened reality. From depths and dimensions within an image to create a moment of connection and show total immersion, to heightened senses through application of colour and light, to inspire limitless exploration by playing with perspective and angles - we spark curiosity and wonder across all visual storytelling, whilst making people feel in the midst of the action.
